Subject: Resolution authorizing municipal elected officials to participate in the employee benefits program.
Present Situation:

The City of Helena participates in the Employee Benefits Program (“Program”) offered by Montana Municipal Interlocal Authority (“MMIA”).  That Program includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits to eligible City employees. Historically, those benefits have also been made available to elected municipal officials, specifically the Mayor, City Commissioners, and Municipal Court judge, on the same basis as provided to the city staff. 

 

For record keeping purposes MMIA needs a resolution passed by the city commission authorizing the participation of elected officials in the Program.
