Subject: HPAC - Crosswalk Painting Presentation
Present Situation: The ATA (Afterschool Teen Arts Council) from the Holter gave a presentation to the
Helena Public Art Committee at a meeting on 2/20/20. With the help of volunteers,
they wish to paint the crosswalks near Bert & Ernie’s in downtown Helena before the
start of the Vigilante Day Parade. Currently, the Vigilante Day Parade has been cancelled.
Proposal/Objective:

Highlight crosswalks with beauty while inspiring thought through art. This project was developed with a professional artist to improve youth’s arts and leadership skills and to engage them in a creative process. The project addresses issues with youth in our community while embracing the beauty of our state. The layout has the intent towel come participation of community members in the creation of the painted crosswalk.They will be using acrylic house paint.
